Edwin Joines, Jr

Clay Edwin Joines, Jr., age 76, of Sparta, NC, passed away Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024, at
Galax Health and Rehab in Galax, VA.

Edwin was born June 2nd, 1947, in Alleghany County to the late Clay Edwin Joines, Sr. and
Kathryn Miller Joines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy
Elliott Joines; four brothers-in-law: Bobby Joe Gambill, Jerry Sheets, David Lambert, and Neil
Stanley.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen Evans and husband Sammy of Glade Valley; a son, Chuck
Wagoner and wife Tracy of Laurel Springs; four grandchildren: Jonathan Evans and wife Jennifer
of Glade Valley; Matthew Evans and wife Alana of Ennice; Taylor Wagoner and wife Nikki of
Blountville, TN; Sydney Robertson and husband Luke of Mount Airy; five great-grandchildren:
James, Corina, Samantha, Grayson and Emery Evans; a brother, Jimmy Joines of Sparta; a
sister, Susie Gambill of Sparta; a brother-in-law, Jim Elliott and wife Dorothy of North Wilkesboro;
four sisters-in-law: Betty Miller of Millers Creek, Melba Stanley of SC, Judy Lambert of SC, Peggy
Sheets of McGrady; a special friend, Johnny Hampton of Sparta. Many nieces, nephews,
extended family, and friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Edwin will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 9th, 2024, in
the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Pastor Brian Severt, Brother Hugh Miller and personal friend Johnny Hampton officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Karen and Sammy Evans, 2784 Scenic Valley Rd., Glade Valley, NC.
